WHY DO DIVEMASTER TRAINING IN ROATAN WITH REEF GLIDERS

During the Dive Master internship you will learn in detail how our bodies respond to breathing compressed air under water, how scuba equipment works, how the laws of physics apply to diving how to dive safely & interact with the aquatic environment responsibly, how to recognize and respond to emergency situations and much more. You should plan on being at the shop from 8:00am to 5:30pm 6 days a week with an hour lunch break and one day off a week.

You will have the opportunity to assist our Instructors while they teach dive courses and help our Dive Masters while they lead certified divers. You will also get to practice and perfect the all the diving skills required to lead divers in the water as a Dive Master and do a lot of diving just for fun! In addition to all of this, we also teach you how to operate the compressor to fill tanks if you would like to learn and how to service equipment all of which thoroughly prepares you for work in the diving industry. Our interns work as part of our team of highly trained PADI Instructors and Dive Masters to ensure our customers get the best possible experience while diving or learning with us, so you also get a real insight as to how a dive shop operates and how to provide excellent customer service.

There are a range of accommodation options available, however most interns choose to rent an apartment for the duration of their stay. These vary in price from $350-$700 per month for a one bedroom to $500-$800 for a two bedroom place depending on the area and amenities. Properties with air-conditioning and beach/ sea views to tend to be the most costly, however, the beach and the dive shop are within a 10 minute walk of most rental apartments in West End. We can help you find accommodation by putting you in touch with local landlords when you arrive on the island. My understanding is that Casa Del Sol does have the option of a kitchen. You should pay around $10.00 for your trip from the airport to West End.

Equipment hire is included free of charge as an added bonus! We limit the amount of interns taking the course to a maximum of four to ensure you get the most from your experience and training with us. We also give priority to people who have trained with Reef Gliders when recruiting staff and have many contacts in the Bay Islands should you wish to find work here after you finish the program.
