There are five Open Water topics to study, each with a corresponding video to watch. You will find a series of questions to test your knowledge at the end of each section in your manual. Several short quizzes will help you prepare for the simple multiple choice exam at the end. If you wish, you can study online before you arrive via PADI's E-learning system and cut down on reading time during your dive vacation in Roatan.

If you would rather not spend time reading during your vacation in Roatan, you can use PADI's E-learning system to study online before you arrive! If you choose to do so, we will give you a discount of $65 off the cost of your PADI Open Water Training in Roatan and you will be able to complete the course on the island in just two and a half days...

We take you shallow water just off the beach near our dive center to practice scuba diving. Your PADI instructor will demonstrate essential skills, then you will repeat what they have shown you until you are comfortable using your dive gear. It is possible to do this portion of the course in the pool at your local dive center. If you choose this option, let us know and we will adjust the cost of the course accordingly.

The PADI Open Water Diver course includes four training dives. You will plan your dives with your instructor and then go out by boat to experience Roatan's reefs and put into practice the skills you have mastered. When you return you will find out about the fascinating marine creatures you saw and log your dives!

Training starts daily at 8.30am, runs until about 4.30pm on most days and the use of all dive equipment is included in the cost. You will need to be at least 10 years old, medically fit to dive, and able swim to participate in this certification course. During a typical day you will watch videos about diving, head to the beach to practice skills, go out on our boat for an open water training dives. If you would rather not spend time reading during your vacation in Roatan, you can use PADI's E-learning system to study online before you arrive. Afterwards, you can choose to continue training with our Advanced Course in Roatan or take advantage of our discounted $30 dives for students.
